Feed the gauntlet every soul you can in the first act. Its first two upgrades outvalue every early purchase combined, because they raise both your soul absorption and Issen damage at once.

The basic parry is the only one you need early. Grind it against the opening Genma until the flash timing is muscle memory — every later boss builds on it.

Malice-producing flora and open rifts silently inflate later enemy counts. Close them on first pass so you never backtrack into a harder zone.
