Onimusha: Way of the Sword Trailers & PVs
Capcom has published six numbered trailers for Onimusha: Way of the Sword plus additional story / release-date PVs. Trailers 1 and 2 were the global reveal and gameplay focus, while later trailers leaned into bosses, story and the challenges awaiting Musashi in Edo-period Kyoto.
Trailer list (in order)
1. The Game Awards 2024 reveal trailer — December 12, 2024. First look at Musashi and the Oni Gauntlet. 2. Sony State of Play gameplay trailer — June 2025, focused on Musashi's combat style. 3. Third trailer — boss introduction including Sasaki Ganryu. 4. Fourth trailer — story / lore focused on the Genma threat. 5. Release date trailer — confirms September 4, 2026 launch and the Switch 2 version. 6. The Challenges That Await trailer — final pre-launch deep dive on boss fights and Kyoto's shrines.
Additional PVs include 'Severing Fates' (story trailer) and several Japanese-only Capcom Channel gameplay deep dives, which switch off dismemberment by default in accordance with CERO Z guidelines.
Japanese-language versions
Capcom's Japanese YouTube channel publishes the Japanese-dubbed version of every trailer. The Japanese version of pre-launch trailers disables the dismemberment gore effect by default, in line with Japanese platform guidelines; gore can be toggled back on inside the game.
